What an Angel Wants

Mark Virkler's picture

Today my daughter, Charity Kayembe, will share the next segment in her blog series with us.

Be blessed!

Welcome to part seven of Angels: God's Servants, My Friends. If you would like to read about the day Jesus introduced me to my guardian angels, as well as some Scripture verses He highlighted for me about them, please check it out here.

An Angel's Perspective

My angels explained it to me once how they saw things. I know they have feelings (1 Pet. 1:12). So I had asked them if there was anything I could do for them, since they both take such good care of me. I wondered if I could ever return the favor in some small way to thank them for their great service.

Shobis said: A simple “good morning” will do it for me, Milady. I can go all day on a good morning from you!

So it was really just the idea of acknowledgement. The opposite of ignorance or ignoring him, but rather honoring him by addressing and greeting him. Certainly didn’t seem like too much to ask! Until I asked Poje, and his request was even simpler than that.

Pojes said: Just a look, Milady. A quick moment to catch your eye. I don’t need you to say anything (ahem, throwing Shobi a teasing grin). But actually, I’d welcome your looks several times a day. I mean, whenever you might think of it and have the time...

Me: Wow, guys. These requests almost seem like they’re more for me than for you! This is totally going to help me. Just not sure how they exactly are such a blessing for you – especially you, Poje? I mean, just looking over at you for a moment? Not even saying anything to you, or listening to anything you have to say? Just a look, really?

Watch the Watchers (Daniel 4)

Pojes: It’s actually quite simple, Milady. See, you are always safe and protected. Whether you see us here watching out for you or not. Whether you feel safe and protected or not – you ARE. And as long as you ARE safe and sound, then I’m doing my job, and God and Jesus are pleased with My service to them in guarding you.

Thing is though, I’d love to go above and beyond my call of duty in serving Father, if at all possible. I mean, Jesus is just so in love with you, and He cares SO much about your happiness and your peace. It brings Him tremendous pleasure when you are in a “good place” emotionally speaking. When you feel safe. When you feel protected. When you feel secure. That pleases Him exceedingly, as He cares more about your inner equilibrium and state of being than even you seem to sometimes. He just cares!

Anyway, I know that if I can get you to look at me, just to lock eyes with me for even a moment in the middle of your full and busy day, then you will know greater peace. You will feel more confident and safe because you’ll see and feel and know and “get” deep down, that you’re not alone. You are being watched over. You are being cared for. That we’re all in this together with you and you face nothing by yourself. That we are a team and in a way, kind of a ‘family’, in that we’re all created by Father and live to serve Him forever. That makes us extraordinarily… together.

Can I Get a Witness?

Poje cont: And I want you to feel that togetherness. That not aloneness. I want you to feel that peace and comfort and joy that come from knowing you are seen. You have a witness to your life. We are right here with you and see everything you do and say, and nothing goes unnoticed. You are appreciated and admired. You are loved.

We do love you, Milady. How could we not? It’s clear to see why Jesus is so totally taken by you – you are a woman after His own heart. You care about the things He cares about. You do things He likes to do with Him. Your heart is always for Him, always concerned about what pleases Him and what He would love to see happen or enjoy being a part of. You’ve made Him your whole world! How easily then is it for all of us to equally reciprocate those feelings back to you...

What About You?

When you see your guardian angels, how does it make you feel? What kinds of emotions does it bring up, when you watch those who are watching out for you? Do you feel safer seeing them with you? Less anxious? Do they make you laugh? Or feel braver? Please feel free to share in the Comments below what it feels like to you.

(And if you haven't yet seen the stories from other readers, most recently about the motorcycle-riding angel, you'll definitely want to check them out here!)

I have never experienced anything you have posted regarding Angels….I have never seen them or heard them…..What would you suggest?

Charity Kayembe's picture

I would encourage you to use the 4 Keys to Hearing God's Voice teaching (http://www.cwgministries.org/Four-Keys-to-Hearing-Gods-Voice) to quiet yourself down, look for vision and tune to spontaneity. You will use the same keys for interacting with your angels because they are spirits who live in the spirit realm just like God is Spirit (John 4:24) Who lives in the spirit realm. So we connect with them the same way.

A great place to start is by beginning with your regular visionary quiet time with Jesus, and then simply ask Him if He’d like to make any angelic introductions. I do believe He (and they) will be very excited for you to make their acquaintance. :) Blessings!

Hi Charity. I just learned of your blog today. Very cool and eye opening. Not long after I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior an angel spoke to me. My 2 little girls were out of town visiting their dad and I was missing them a bunch. So much so that I was feeling down. One morning I did not want to get up and get ready for work. I kept hitting the snooze button every time the alarm went off. Finally, what I heard next woke me up and helped me to get ready and get to work on time. I was asleep and I heard a very kind audible voice which filled my entire living room say, "It's time to wakeup up now dear." It made me feel so loved and cared for and although I did not see it, I knew it was an angel. The voice sounded like an elder lady and it was very loving. I sat right up and got ready for work. Another time I had a dream one night and I saw a ladder coming down from heaven to the earth and bright beautiful angels were going up and down the ladder. I knew they were attending to the Fathers business. It looked like what Jacob in the Bible saw. I'm not comparing myself to Jacob. I'm just sharing what I saw. :)

What an awesome testimony! Thank you for sharing your experiences. I love when the Bible comes to life like that and we get to "live Scripture". Blessings to you!

I am very much in kindergarten on this issue. I have always believed in them and that children had them in attendance. But I have so many questions. For instance, why do the guardian angels not protect little ones from all harm and abuse? I did ask the Lord awhile back if we still had guardian angels as adults and before I could finish the question I felt a presence over my right shoulder and heard, "You can call me Jacob. That is not what HE calls me, but you may call me that." I have not seen more that a glimpse of him in the spirit realm, getting an impression of a white robe and some gold, perhaps a sash. I think there was a weapon, probably a sword. I have asked the Lord if there can be more contact, conversation as there has not been. I am only aware of Jacob who remains in the same position it seems, when I think consciously of him. Mostly I have questions. Anyone?

Hi Sheryl, thank you for your comments! It's really neat to hear about Jacob. An angel at your right hand, watching your back? That sounds very comforting to me!

I, too, only see my angels when I look for them, when I purpose to be aware of their presence and see and feel them with me. You're right, it's hard to see in the spirit with the eyes of our heart closed shut tight! Looking and consciously fixing our gaze into the spirit realm is what opens it up for us to see and feel more what is there. That's a good word, Sheryl. Thank you for sharing!!

Thanks so much, Charity, for sharing your experiences. It really makes sense to me. Who knew? At first I thought, shouldn't I just focus on Jesus, not angels, so I asked God about it and I felt like he said it was absolutely fine with him to develop a relationship with my angels, that he wasn't jealous, that we were on the same team, and if I got out of bounds about it in some way he would let me know. I had been asking him to open my eyes more to the unseen world anyway. So this talking to angels thing has really added a whole new dimension. Last Sunday after church I was being prayed for about a physical issue and I saw in my mind my angels standing there with their hands on my head ruffling my hair like you might with a child that you were fond of. It was really sweet. I love being part of this little Kingdom team with them. I know some people would think that I have grown-up imaginary friends, so I am pretty cautious about who I share with (almost nobody), but I figure I'm going to live totally in that unseen world some day so why not get more acquainted with it?

Charity Kayembe's picture

I love your post! It's so cool to hear that God is saying the same kind of things to you that He's said to me. What great confirmation!

The experience you had in church with the angels ruffling your hair is absolutely precious. I can totally see them doing that! I love everything about what that picture conveys. It's so beautiful -- thank you so much for sharing it with us.

And, I couldn't agree with your last sentence more! We aren't human beings that have temporary spiritual experiences. We're spirit beings who just happen to be having a temporary human experience. AMEN... and God bless!!

Hi. I am really enjoying these blogs Charity, thank you so much for them. Even though I have never seen my angels, several times I have felt their presence and once had a dream of me in heaven and my angels flying over me even though I think they were invisible I think and I was saying to them that i am sorry for forgetting them many times that they are with me or something like that. But to answer your question, it makes me feel loved, protected, cared for. Should something happen, I know they will protect me and I feel that we are a true family and it is always touching to think of that and the bond we can have together.

Charity Kayembe's picture

I'm so glad to hear you're enjoying the blogs. Thanks so much for letting me know! :)

It's wonderful that you feel your angels' presence, and feel so much better because of it. That's really beautiful, cause that's God's heart for you! Making you feel loved and protected and cared for, just like you said. Amen!

I also love your angel dream! In the Bible, dreams are sometimes called night visions. And we know during-the-day visions give us glimpses into the spirit realm. So I definitely believe that often our dreams at night do the same thing, just like you shared. I love that.

Praise God for angels watching over us all day long, and all through the nighttime too. Thank you for sharing your story with us! Blessings!!

Through the Bible 7: Acts and Epistles MP3s

Dr. Andrew Hardy takes you through Acts and the General Epistles in 10 sessions. This is part seven of our Through the Bible series, which provides you an in-depth overview of the entire Bible. You may choose to begin with the Life of Christ, and work your way through the entire New Testament, and then follow this up by going through the Old Testament.

In the book of Acts you discover the vibrancy of the early Church. The Holy Spirit descended upon them in Pentecost and filled them and the room in which they were seated. Empowered by the Holy Ghost, they immediatey won 3000 to the Lord. Miracles followed, many were healed, and the world was transformed by these anointed disciples.

In the General Epistles we learn of the struggles the early Church faced, and the amazing teaching the Apostle Paul provided to keep them on track. You receive a glimpse into the heart of Paul as he passionately encourages his readers to know who they are in Christ and ascend into the heavenlies, where they are seated with Him in heavenly places, ruling and reigning. These books take you into the depths of Scriptural truth as revealed by the Holy Spirit. Pray for God to give you revelation knowledge in your heart and mind as you meditate on His Word (Eph. 1:17,18).
