We often speak of God “giving us a vision,” and we mean that He supernaturally provides us with a picture of heaven or glimpse into the spiritual realm. Certainly, He can and does do this. However, I wonder if this is His ideal and original intention. That is, does Father always want us to just wait around for Him to sovereignly “open our eyes” to the sacred dimension, or does He appreciate it when we take the initiative to open our spiritual eyes and proactively look into His supernatural world?

Did you know that there is NO sacred/secular split in God’s eyes? The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof (Ps. 24:1), so nothing on this earth is secular. Nothing is satan's. It is ALL God’s. So any job I do is my ministry unto the Lord and His service through me to all of humanity (Col. 3:23-24). This includes construction, architecture, sewing, teaching others these crafts, etc.

Wow! God sure does cross denominational lines. I didn’t know that when I was first saved. That Baptist church told me that the only ones going to heaven were those who were members of our denomination. Talk about a small box! God broke that box when I went to a Wesleyan College and discovered the Methodists were also saved. The box got even bigger when Dennis and Matt Lynn, two Jesuit priests, taught me two of the four keys to hearing God’s voice. Finally, I even recognized that Catholics could be saved!

From Pastor Lackson Banda, South Africa – For the first two years of my older children’s lives I was an absent father due to ministry work. I have 3 kids, 2 boys and 1 girl. The first one is son 11 years, the second girl 8 years and the 3rd is boy 4 years old. They all have different personalities. Each one provides their own specific challenges to my wife and me.
