This book is designed to be used in a 13-week new members' class of a church which is pursuing intimacy with the Holy Spirit. As people come to your church, they come with many different theological backgrounds and expectations as to what church ought to be like. It is crucial that you align these people's hearts and minds as they join the church, or they will end up pulling in many different directions and causing division.
Where This Book Will Take You
The purpose of this book is to introduce people to what a Spirit-anointed church looks like and acts like, and what it believes about the power of God. The chapters are short so that the one who is leading this class can easily enlarge upon a particular emphasis which their church has chosen to focus on. Since people have read the chapter before coming to class, the class time can be a time of life-giving discussion, rather than lecture.
Let's get everyone on the same page! Let's inspire them that they can lead supernatural lives, and get them started doing so! This is not your traditional newcomers' class. Rather than emphasizing "correct" doctrine and theology, it introduces the reader to intimacy with the Holy Spirit. A church that is intimate with the Holy Spirit is a church that is getting its people healed and empowered and creative and ready to change their communities.

Coaching or discipling is the method Jesus used to train the twelve disciples.
When you team up with someone ahead of you in an area to mentor you, and you share your questions and steps of growth with them, receiving their counsel in return, you ascend more quickly into mastery in that area. While attending the Voice of the Apostles Conference in Orlando last week, I was blessed to have breakfast with Bill Johnson, senior pastor of Bethel Church, a mega-church in Redding, California where amazing miracles and healings take place weekly. My goal was to get acquainted and become friends, and I discovered Bill had been influenced by our Communion With God book way back in the mid 1980’s.
Question: I want to do great things for God. I want to see miracles happen through my life. How does this happen?
Answer: As I pondered that question, while praying at the altar of my church over 35 years ago, in a flash God showed the following to me. I have lived out of this revelation ever since. By following a few simple steps, God has birthed miracles as well as an international ministry out through me, which is far beyond my wildest imagination. David Rocha, a Christian Leadership University graduate, brought our attention to Pete Cabrera Jr, a man that travels all over laying hands on people that need healing and they are healed. David actually contacted him to pray for his wife who was in pain with kidney stones and scheduled for surgery and the surgery was cancelled because of the healing. Praise God!
