There is no joy so complete as knowing who you are -- who God has made you to be and what your basic giftings and drives are. The goal of this book is to get you effectively functioning in roles which allow you to adequately express your heart motivations and gifts. The fulfillment you experience when you function in your gifts and calling is a joy almost beyond belief.

What Are Successful Companies and Churches Doing?
The most successful corporations of today are doing something unique: New employees are given a battery of personality and skill-level profiles to discover their temperament, talents, skills, and interests. With this information, the individual is then fitted into the job best suited to use his individual desires and gifts. For years I have marveled at this, realizing that these employees will perform to their greatest capacity when they work for such companies. They will be so glad to have found a niche in life for which they are perfectly suited and in which they are fulfilled that they will give one hundred and fifty percent and do so joyfully, while receiving a blessing in return. Wouldn't it be nice if the Church could do the same thing, if it, too, tested all newcomers and placed them in a position that most perfectly suited their personality, their dreams, their talents, and their maturity level?
What would happen to a church that put everyone to work on the proper level of his gifting and maturity, and in the area of his heart motivation? Would it be right for us to anticipate explosive growth?
What's in the book Gifted to Succeed?
We have the solution for such progressive churches. In the book Gifted to Succeed you will find a battery of a dozen different profiles that will examine everything from heart motivation to Bible knowledge to commitment level. After completing the profiles and working with a consultant, you will be able to place the new attendee in the area of ministry in your church that is most perfectly suited to his skills. The Bible says that out of the heart flow the issues of life. So you will explore the heart motivations God has placed within you and learn how to capitalize on them. God lists five different functions within the body of Christ, and promises that by receiving from all five ministries (i.e. people with five different heart motivations), we can come to maturity (Eph. 4:7-13)! Wow! What an awesome promise. So what are the five heart motivations which we need to seek out and incorporate into a wise decision-making paradigm? They are:
- a heart for inspirational creativity
- a heart for the harvest
- a heart for people
- a heart for truth
- a heart for the whole
How to Get the Most from the Gifted to Succeed Training
We recommend that every family, small group, church and Christian company take their people through these 12 profiles and this training manual. Each participate in the group will need his own copy of Gifted to Succeed, so they can complete the various profiles and meditate on the training that goes with them. This allows everyone to become aware of the many gifts and talents in themselves and in the people God has placed around them. This will encourage them to function in their own area of giftedness and to position people in roles and situations where their gifts and talents can shine forth. This applies to your children, your spouse, your co-workers and elders within the church.
You will also learn to seek out counselors with gifts and talents that complement yours and in so doing, you will become more successful in all you put your hand to. You will learn how to function as part of a body (i. e. the body of Christ), rather than on your own. This helps you to participate in God's plan and God's provision for your life. You will prosper more than you ever dreamed possible through a multi-gifted, well-fitted team. Your joy will be overflowing.

In my opinion, this should have a wide circulation. How about making a free-standing version of it with the title “The Virkler Grid” and with a subtitle “A Comparative Analysis of the Foundational Offices of Ephesians 4:11?”
I would expect that you will see it popping up all over the place since there is nothing else like it. The Virkler Grid could end up being a standard tool for the whole apostolic movement in years to come.

I first became aware of the concept of flow in 1979. I was reading a book about the mind and there was a research article on “The Flow Experience.” Science had discovered that when people are in flow, they are more creative, more insightful and more effective than when in their normal state.
I pondered that and said, “That is sure true in my life.”
Everyone delegates. Delegation is one way we can reduce the stress in our lives. I am amazed at how effectively my son and daughter-in-law delegate jobs to their children and how well my grandchildren do these jobs. Through this my grandchildren are learning key life skills and being paid in the process.
