Friends' Meet Ministry Monthly Donation for India
Yesterday we fed the homeless; today we did another clinic. Yesterday morning I put rice in over 100 baggies as others on the team went out praying on the streets. Many accepted Christ and many were healed. In the afternoon, we took the food to the homeless who live on the streets. We prayed with them for salvation and health as we distributed the food. It was a hard day. The whole scene was so distressing, as it is even illegal to feed the homeless in India. Yet this is what Mother Teresa did for many years in India. She showed love to those who were abandoned. I was reminded that I was now living out the Christian Manifesto which Jesus Himself lived (Luke 4:18,19).
Today we did another clinic in a city that we sensed exhibited life and joy. It was a glorious day. 150 went through the clinic, and many were saved during the day (although we did not get an exact count).
I worked in “intake” in the clinic and met the people face to face as they described the physical pains which had brought them to the clinic. Since three of us were doing intake, we could take our time, and offer to pray with people. I did, and many wanted hands laid on them and prayer for healing, and many felt release of several of their symptoms as I prayed. Normally I would need to pray one to three times until they reported that the symptoms had receded.
After healing prayer, we were trained to ask if they would like another gift from Jesus, which is to have Him live in their hearts and heal their hearts also. Most answered yes, and so I presented the gospel to them and had them repeat a prayer after me where they invited Jesus into their hearts as their Lord and Savior. Of course all this was all done with a translator and you can check out the video blog testimony below. Lots of additional healing testimonies from various team members are also available here.
The clinic closed and as we stood around outside, a group of young boys gathered around and just wanted to say hi and shake hands. So I asked them, “Would you like to hear about the gospel of Jesus?”
They said yes, and so I shared the story of Jesus coming down, dying, washing away our sins if we would invite Him into our hearts to be our Lord and Savior, and then choose to listen to Him, and obey what He tells them. All eight boys prayed out loud after me a salvation prayer and all came to the evening celebration with great excitement.
At the close of the evening celebration, I was in the front with other prayer counselors and about 8 or so young girls gathered around, and exactly the same thing happened, and I was able to lead them in a prayer of accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior. I must have lead about 25 Hindus to the Lord today, by simply offering Jesus’ healing love and saving grace to them. No arguing. No viewing it as “me versus them,” but we together. I was learning to honor all men as commanded in 1 Peter 2:17. This was the way Jesus won the lost. I was finally following in the steps of the Master.
How YOU Can Be a Part of God's Work in India - A Need We Can Meet!
This morning while on the bus, the senior pastor, Vijay Christian, asked us to pray for him and his wife Neeraja as they were succumbing to a spirit of fear because of recent attacks they have experienced. Vijay heads up the city church as well as overseeing 4 village churches and pastors. From their city church they feed the homeless, have their church offices and congregational space, and oversee the sewing center and all ministries listed on their church website. (Click on the “Ministry” tab to see all the ministries they are doing.)
They are about to lose the building in the city that they have been using to host all these ministries, and they need to find another building. The owner of the building has died and the rent he was charging them was very low, and so now they are faced with needing to rent another building and pay approximately $700 a month more for this new building.
I felt in my heart that the Lord told me for them to go and find the building they would need to rent to run all their ministries, and let me know how much it would cost and I would put an appeal out through our ministry newsletter, and give people an opportunity to give toward this monthly rent. I feel we can raise the $700 or so he will need and make a commitment to him for a minimum of the next three years, and remove this load off their shoulders.
I want you to know the quality of Vijay and Neeraja so you know who you will be seeding into. Neeraja began feeding the homeless herself by cooking the food in her kitchen and distributing it to 150 beggars on the street. Then as the ministry to the homeless grew others have joined in and the cooking is done at the church. They have a number of beggars who now come to their church and whose lives are being put back together.
Vijay and Neeraja are anointed, passionate, faithful apostolic leaders in India, bringing change to this huge nation of 1.2 billion people. They have many important Ministry Projects and I know this is good soil to plant seed into. I have worked alongside Vijay and Neeraja for a week, and seen first-hand how excellent the work is they are doing and how beautiful their hearts and spirits are. I support them unreservedly.
Please pray about you or your group supporting this EFFECTIVE ministry in India by contributing toward the $700 a month they will need for the new building they will be renting. We are providing you the opportunity to contribute any amount as either a one-time gift or a monthly gift for up to three years. Together we can make a difference! We can help maintain and grow this amazing, thriving ministry work in a Hindu nation. As a sower, you will reap in the eternal rewards for the work this ministry does.
Lord, let us take this burden off their shoulders so they can focus on growing the ministries You have given to them.
Thank you for however the Lord directs you!
