How Does Young’s Literal Translation translate aion (G165) & aionios (G166)?

The verses below are from Young’s Literal Translation and include all verses in the New Testament that have aion (G165) or aionios (G166) in them. Young’s Literal Translation does not list any of them as eternal but translates all as “age-during.” It may help to understand this phrase as “during the length of the age.”

The King James Version (KJV) translates these two Greek words 186 times as: everlasting, forever, evermore, and eternal. The value of meditating through these verses is that Young’s has not forced these 186 occurrences off into the future nor made them everlasting. This means you could ponder and ask the Lord, “Lord, is this verse speaking of my life now, here on earth, or is it only discussing something available in the future, or is it both?”

You may discover that many things you felt needed to be pushed into the future age actually begin right here and now in this age. We do know that eternal life begins NOW (Jn. 17:3), so it would stand to reason that a goodly number of things which are component parts of eternal life would kick in now. Some of the things you were forced to believe were eternal, you may decide really are not eternal after all, when compared with other verses of Scripture.

I found as I did this exercise I would be generally also looking up the verses in my favorite translations (NASBU & NKJV) and comparing the verse with Young’s rendering below (and also another literal translation from Bible Hub).

Reflection: Only two verses (below) which had aionios (G166) in them absolutely could NOT mean forever: Philemon 1:15 and Jude 1:7. On the other hand, verses with aion (G165) had many occurrences which clearly could not mean forever.
