Blessed Holy Lord, about the end of the end times, Your returning. On one hand, there are those who see all of the record setting weather events and earthquakes a direct action by You, even acts of judgment, to get people’s attention, and on the other hand, those who just see it as, that is what weather does. When people ask Me about these events, I need Your input to answer the way You desire.
Ben, this is a good question to ask Me at this time. When I created the heavens and the earth, I set in motion definite patterns of weather. With the events regarding the flood, the cataclysmic shaking of the earth left it very unstable as you can see by such events as the ring of fire of the Pacific ocean. For the most part, I do not interfere with weather patterns and earth movements. As you know, there are times when I interfere with them to achieve some goal of Mine. As the end times approach, the intensity of weather patterns and earthquakes will increase. As people seek My face, I will alter these normal patterns. However, if they continue to do their own thing, I will continue to allow actions to continue in the heavens and in the earth. I so want My people to seek Me. That is one of the reasons I have given you special gifts to proclaim to My people that which I desire of them. How this all unfolds depends upon My people. Many of the events are inevitable, but I can delay them to occur at a later time. You see evidence of this in the Scriptures. I stopped the movement of the sun in relation to the earth is but one example. Take some time to review the Scriptures on this. I will help you find them.
And He did! Following are a few examples from the Scriptures wherein God altered earthly conditions to achieve His desires. A quick review of these events wherein God brought changes to the normal course of events on earth shows that God occasionally takes unilateral action, but for the most part, He chooses to work through His people.
1. The sun stood still for about a day after Joshua spoke for it to happen. The Lord heeded the voice of Joshua and did this tremendous feat. (Joshua 10)
2. The Lord sent a great wind to cause the disobedient prophet Jonah to be thrown overboard. Jonah spent three days in the belly of a great fish and was then be vomited upon dry land.
(Jonah 1-4)
3. Jesus rebuked the wind and the waves and they became quiet while He and His disciples were in a boat. (Mark 4: 38-41)
4. God provided for His people who fled Egypt in many ways. He provided a cloud for shade by day and a pillar of fire by night to give them light and show them where to go. (Nehemiah 9:19)
5. Moses spoke for the ground to open up to destroy a rebellious group of people. God then opened the ground and the rebellious people perished into the earth. (Numbers 16: 27-33)
6. God gave a dream to Pharaoh that was interpreted by Joseph, which said there would be seven years of plenty and seven years of lean. This happened just as Joseph said, and through this, Joseph gained great favor. (Genesis 41)
7. God destroyed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding area when He rained brimstone and fire from heaven on them because of their wickedness. (Genesis 19:23-29)
8. God sent a great flood over the entire earth to destroy all of mankind, except for righteous Noah and his family. (Genesis 6:17)
9. God stopped a flooded river to enable His people to enter the promised land on dry land. This event did not happen until the priests carrying the Ark of the Tabernacle put their feet into the waters of the Jordan River. Then the water rose in a great heap far upstream from the crossing site, allowing dry passage. (Joshua 3)
10. God used Moses to part a sea to save His people. When Moses obeyed God, the sea parted and the people crossed safely ahead of the pursuing Egyptian army. (Exodus 14:16)
11. The prophet Elijah, a man with a nature like ours, prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not for three and one half years. He prayed again and it rained and the earth produced its fruit. James 5:17-18

God is merciful and can alter natural patterns
by Anonymous
Ben, Here is another example from scripture of our Father God altering His natural patterns… I like it because this is also an example of His mercy after He proclaimed through Isaiah that King Hezekiah would “die and not live”. This shows He does what He said to you He would do, “As people seek My face, I will alter these normal patterns.”
1 In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, “This is what the LORD says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover.”
2 Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the LORD, 3...and Hezekiah wept bitterly.
4 Before Isaiah had left the middle court, the word of the LORD came to him: 5 “Go back and tell Hezekiah, the leader of my people, ‘This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the temple of the LORD. 6 I will add fifteen years to your life…
8 Hezekiah had asked Isaiah, “What will be the sign that the LORD will heal me and that I will go up to the temple of the LORD on the third day from now?”
9 Isaiah answered, “This is the LORD’s sign to you that the LORD will do what he has promised: Shall the shadow go forward ten steps, or shall it go back ten steps?”
10 “It is a simple matter for the shadow to go forward ten steps,” said Hezekiah. “Rather, have it go back ten steps.”
11 Then the prophet Isaiah called upon the LORD, and the LORD made the shadow go back the ten steps it had gone down on the stairway of Ahaz. (2 Kings 20: 1-6, 8-11 NIV)
