Water baptism is a means by which you receive God’s GRACE (power and strength). In water baptism, the old self is buried as it goes under the waters in baptism, and the new self comes alive as you come up out of the waters as a new person. Set your faith to believe for miracles of deliverance from sin and transformation as you go under the waters of baptism. People have experienced instantaneous freedom from sin patterns as they have gone through water baptism. You can, too. Believe for this! Regina is one who believed for this.
Regina’s testimony of what she experienced as she was baptized in water
I had been pursuing Jesus for many years. In 2011 I had repented of my sins and knew that my good works could not save me. I attended Bible study and church but I always felt this aloneness and emptiness no matter who I talked to or where I was. I had been baptized in 2013 but it meant nothing to me other than a symbol which I had been taught. There is the power of Jesus’ resurrection in water baptism. I knew that I needed to be baptized as I had read: “Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the Holy Spirit” - Acts 2:38.
I went into the baptism believing that the Holy Spirit was guaranteed to me as Jesus had promised. When I came up out of the water, my old man had been crucified and I felt the power of the Holy Spirit like a blue water welling up into my heart. I felt demonic influence leaving my body and my being. After my baptism, the demonic oppression I was unaware of, could not stay. Days later, I had believers pray for continued deliverance. The Holy Spirit was cleaning house inside my soul, spirit and body. I had done lots of therapy for childhood trauma but this freedom was amazing. I’m not perfect. I’m still growing and being sanctified. I’m not saved by anything I have done but by Christ’s mercy.
Things that once easily irritated me, just slip off. I don’t make subconscious agreements anymore to demonic lies. Spiritual attack no longer seems overwhelming and unbearable. I have peace in my body despite all the suffering and pain I experienced as a child and teenager. I have seen healing in my body and will continue to pray for this. Reading the Bible is different now too. There is a clarity and truth and power I feel when I read it.
Reflections from Mark
It is interesting to note in Regina's testimony that her first baptism meant nothing because she was not trained to believe for anything to happen. In her second baptism, she was prepared to believe that her old man was crucified and she felt demonic influence leaving her body. However, she goes on to state that "days later, I had believers pray for continued deliverance" so that, too, was a piece to her full freedom. And then she goes on to say she had to master the skill of not making subconscious agreements anymore to demonic lies. This is all part of what Paul speaks of in Philippians 2:12-13, "Work out your salvation with fear and trembling for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure."
So you note there are multiple pieces and multiple steps to full, complete, ongoing deliverance and freedom in Christ. We take you through each of these steps in our teaching on Prayers That Heal the Heart.
