We have died with Christ, and Christ is now our life (Gal 2:20). I memorized this verse shortly after I was saved but I never pictured it. I still saw myself as the one living out my daily life. The truth is, what you see is what you get. I said, “Christ is my life,” but I was picturing that it was me living independently from Him.
This dichotomy creates inner conflict, which means I am going nowhere. I move forward only when my inner being is in alignment, which means 1) I believe it, 2) I see it, 3) I feel it, 3) I speak it, 4) I ponder it, and 5) I act on it. When I am living in congruence and coherence, the anointing of God is released.
I needed to hold imagine the four pictures the New Testament has of me. I must see myself as: 1) a vessel, 2) a temple, 3) a branch, and 4) a part of the body of which Jesus is the head. Then I am picturing true reality. Holding these pictures make me continuously dependent upon the Almighty God Who indwells me, guides me and empowers me. What a wonderful, anointed way to live! Thank You, Jesus, for choosing to live within us and flow out through us!
The revelation truths we will explore that allow us to release the Spirit’s anointing are:
- God is ALL might and I am a vessel containing this Almighty God.
- I am done with self-dependence and instead choose to release God, the one Who lives within.
- Rather than focus on living according to laws, I focus on living according to the indwelling Spirit.
- I live by faith that God’s River flows out through me, and this flow is His wonderful anointing
