Have you heard that the road to hell is paved with good intentions? This is a cynical saying, but there is often a big difference between the good that you would do and the way you actually perform.
My word records that Abraham believed me and it was imputed to him for righteousness. Do you appreciate the magnitude of this, and the difference between these concepts? Good intentions can be entirely on your own, but those who believe me acknowledge their need for something beyond their own abilities and trust in me rather than themselves. In this way the road to heaven is also paved with good intentions.
