Clear The Dead Away

I was spending some time with the Lord the other day when I suddenly saw a vision of a large field.  There were people scattered all over the field with shovels and hoes and other gardening tools.

I took a few steps forward and noticed the ground was covered with dead brush and dried out twigs.  Basically, it looked like I cleared my yard of debris and let it sit on the side of the road for a week…which has happened.

Then He said to His disciples, The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few.

So pray to the Lord of the harvest to force out and thrust laborers into His harvest.

-Matthew 9:37-38

Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8).  We are to share in his life, to live the life he modeled to us.  We are to be imitators of God who is fully expressed through Jesus.  It’s also our mandate to destroy the works of the devil.

So, about that field.  The Lord began to show me that all the dead stuff covering the surface was the works of the devil.  All of the lies about who God is, what he looks like, who we are in Christ, and who he is in us…all of them lay like dead brush covering the soil that is rich and can actually grow something.

But the dead can be cleared away.

There is rich soil underneath it all and it’s up to us, with the power and authority given to us through Jesus, to clear the old away and turn the soil of the new.  The rich soil is the perfect love of God’s heart and it’s time for those who have received revelation of what it looks like, to take the tools they’ve been given to the field so that same revelation of love can be turned over in other people’s hearts.

Those sent out into the harvest need to be self-sacrificial lovers holding the mighty heart of Jesus up for all to see.  Every dig with the shovel is an act of service to those around them in some way. 

So, let’s take to the fields with everything God has given us to show the world who the Father really is.  I’ll join you at the huge bon fire where all of the lies, and everything that stands between us and love, is incinerated.  Bring the joy, the fun, and maybe some s’mores.
