Esther recently attended our dream interpretation training, and as a result is now receiving guidance through her dreams. Here is one of them!
“Indeed God speaks once, or twice, yet no one notices it. In a dream, a vision of the night, When sound sleep falls on men, While they slumber in their beds, Then He opens the ears of men, And seals their instruction, that He may turn man aside from his conduct, And keep man from pride; He keeps back his soul from the pit, . . . Job 33:14-18
As I climbed into bed, I was excited about the new ideas I’d heard in the last two days. Like Mary, I wanted to ponder them in my heart before sleep set in.
I reflected on the ideas one by one.
- The first one was that dreams contain a valid message. They are not the pizza I ate before going to bed.
- The second one was that God wants to guide and counsel me through my dreams on a regular basis.
- And third, I could let God know that I was open and ready to hear from Him through dreams by asking Him to speak to me in my dreams right before falling asleep. I could also put a journal and pen by my bed to record the dreams.
It seemed too good to be true, but I was all over it. What did I have to lose?
As a recovering workaholic, someone was talking my love language. The possibility of getting something done while I was sleeping was too good an offer to turn down.
My pondering was done. I was ready to try it.
My eyes closed and I drifted into much needed sleep. The next thing I remember is hearing God say to me, “What happens when you leave eggs on too long? What an odd question, I thought. But it’s God, so I’ll go with it.”
Immediately, I saw a picture of a pan full of eggs someone had whisked, poured into the pan, and walked away to focus on something else. The eggs had been neglected. God took a spatula and lifted the eggs slightly and I could see that they were beginning to turn brown. My first thought was that there are not many things I dislike more than overcooked eggs. I’d rather have no eggs for breakfast than overcooked eggs and I love eggs.
I refocused and went back to the question, “What happens when you leave eggs on too long?“
I answered, “They become tough. They’re not tender.”
The Lord spoke, “When you’re on duty too long, your heart gets tough. You’re working too much, and it’s not who you want to be.”
The guidance and counsel from Heaven had arrived. I now believe God does guide and counsel us in our dreams. It is much needed, and beautiful!
To attend a live Dreams Workshop like Esther did, we invite you to join us in Orlando next month.
And if you can't make it to the training in person, Christian Leadership University offers the course REN310 Wisdom Through Dream Interpretation by distance learning. Begin hearing God through your dreams!
