Communion With God
Righteousness
Exalts a Nation!(Proverbs
14:34)
God is clear in His promise to bless righteous nations and curse wicked nations
(Ezek. 33:13-16; Jer. 18:7-10). In America, we are blessed with the opportunity
to be fully involved in the political workings of our nation. If we want our
nation to be blessed, then we must realize that it is a full-time Christian
ministry to be involved in politics. I do not believe I have ever heard an
altar call for people to come forward to give their lives in full-time
Christian service as ministers in government. Well, it is high time that we
give these altar calls and respond to them. It is time to call righteous people
to seek election into office and to uphold righteousness in the laws of our
country, so we can pass on a great and blessed and free nation to our children!
The 70 million born again Christians in America constitute the largest voting
block our nation has. There is no reason for righteousness not to be exalted in
such a nation. I ask you to make a commitment to seeing involvement in
politics as full-time Christian service, and to call ourselves and others
into a passionate commitment to becoming leaders in the political future of our
nation, as a ministry unto the Lord Jesus Christ.
You may notice that we even ordain Christians as ministers in the area of
politics. www.cluonline.com/network
Remember, “Leadership is automatically transferred to those who remain
optimistic.” If you journal,
God will keep you optimistic, because He knows that He is in control and He
rules in the realm of mankind. In addition, people follow charismatic leaders.
Charismatic leaders are people who can allow emotion to flow freely out through
their personalities. So journal and ask, “Lord, what do You want to say to me
about releasing my emotions in an effective way?”
CLU offers the following courses to get you started as a minister in government
in the United States. If God can be involved in politics as King of Kings and
Lord of Lords, and He can do it as a ministry, then you and I can also be ministers
of righteousness in government. Come on, let’s get involved and get this
job done! Let’s restore righteousness to the politics of our nation, whatever
nation that may be, and to our election process. Let’s be ministers of God in
government. It’s worth our time and our effort. Our children will rise up and
call us blessed.

I have asked Guy Rodgers, the Dean of our School of Government to share some of
his thoughts with you:
“Years ago I was a guest on a radio talk show in Florida. A caller phoned in
to vehemently object to my exhortation that Christians pay much more attention
to salting the culture through actions such as participation in government. ‘Our
mission is to save souls,’ he insisted – a sentiment with which I agreed.
“But I then listed the number of government policies that have been
promulgated over the past 40 years that have unleashed hedonism, sexual license,
and self-centeredness, and have proved to be destructive of individuals,
families and communities: abortion on demand; no-fault divorce (which has been a
principal factor in the explosion of single parent families); so-called ‘public
assistance’ programs, that have spawned multiple generations of Americans who
do not even know what work is; a tax code that penalizes families and encourages
unmarried cohabitation; the eradication of virtually everything Christian from
our public schools; the twisted and novel interpretation of the right to freedom
of speech to mean the right to own and distribute pornography.
“‘What you advocate,’ I concluded, ‘is a Christianity where we are
reduced to the role of spiritual garbage men, cleaning up the messes in people’s
lives aided and abetted by unbiblical philosophies espoused by many in
government and foisted on the American people. These government policies in
effect tell people it’s okay to sin, it’s okay to be selfish, it’s okay to
abandon yourself to hedonism. And this is not only unloving, it is cruel. Rather
than merely apply a pound of cure for these social ills, it’s time we applied
an ounce of prevention.’
“Jesus summed up the law when He said, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your
heart, soul, mind and strength, and your neighbor as yourself.’ Loving our
neighbors certainly means sharing with them the Good News about the redemption
Jesus holds out to them through His death and resurrection. But it also means
being the salt that Jesus called us to be, preserving what is good and godly and
preventing rot in the culture around us, a culture that includes civil
government.”

About King David–
Stacie Horne, a CLU student
“Lord, You are walking me through David’s life as I study daily, but what is
it You are trying to show me in regard to David’s life and this preparation
time of my life? Is there some parallel?”
1 Sam. 17:34-37 -- “Stacie, David fought the lions and the bears while
keeping his father’s sheep before killing Goliath. David spent much time in
the desert or valley, out protecting the sheep, watching over them. And if one
of the sheep went astray or was carried off, then David went to get it no matter
the cost or danger or risk that was at stake, he went to get that sheep and
brought it back.
“This was a major preparation for David. It was preparation for Him as a king
in taking care of the people of Israel, protecting them and rescuing them,
providing for them, serving them, etc… This was also spiritual preparation so
that in the day of Saul seeking his life, David could choose to make the right
decisions and not kill or harm the ‘anointed one’ but protect his life.
“Being out in the valley alone protecting those sheep, David had a lot of
thinking time. He had a lot of time to spend worshipping Me, writing songs,
living so very close to Me. His relationship grew deeper and his giftings
perfected while attending the sheep.”
“I am beginning to see the reflection now, Lord.”
“Stacie, before David was king he fought battles with lions and bears with
his hands and slingshot in preparation for the fight in the battle with Goliath
and next the armies of the nations. This was all before he was made king.
“The preparation of worship in his life would lead to a place where David
played before the king (Saul) to drive out evil spirits, then he would
ultimately lead in battle to the sounds of worship and [be] victorious. Did
David know before Samuel anointed him that he would one day play his harp before
the king or fight a giant whom all others were afraid of?”
“No, Lord.”
“After being anointed by Samuel to be king, did David’s heart change and
become arrogant about what he one day knew he would be—The King?”
“No, Lord.”
“David was a man of great humility, great strength, talent, love and
passion because he knew his Father—Me. He had spent so much time with Me in
worship and prayer and communion (communicating with Me) that David’s heart
was ‘truly’ after My heart. And My daughter, your heart is the same. This is
why I trusted David with the position of King, this is why I trusted David with
worship. Because I knew that David would not destroy worship by his own selfish
desires. David regarded worship as precious and sacred and powerful, as I do. He
knew how I felt about worship, and he learned how to care for worship with a
heart of passion and not allow it to be tainted by fleshly desires or destroyed
by the careless enemy.
“David understood that worship was a weapon, it was warfare that destroyed the
enemy and delivered the people. He knew how to take care of that weapon, clean
it, polish it, prepare it for another battle. David understood that worship
brought transparency of heart, that it was communication in the secret place
with Me.
“David understood a total dependency on me. All before he was King, David
experienced Me and went through preparation. From the times of fighting lions to
running from cave to cave from Saul to victoriously fighting against the armies
in the deserts, he was being prepared.
“Stacie, you have a heart like David. A heart after My heart. Keep following
in obedience with the preparation time and writing the music and songs that I am
giving you. Keep spending those hours with Me in prayer. I have called you, I
have chosen you and I am preparing you for something even greater than you can
imagine. Just don’t lose heart in this time but continue steadfast after me.
You are My beloved.”
“Father, thank You. I am so honored to see this revelation. Thank You for your
words of life, Lord. I stand in awe of You. Lord, thank You for this preparation
time and what You are working in me daily. And thank You, Lord, for investing
Your giftings in me. Father, I abandon myself to You. I want to be satisfied
with Jesus (You) in my life. How I adore You, magnify Your name, and worship You
as Lord and King of my life. I love You.”
