Church in California Experiences Dynamic Growth Through Communion With God – Richard Biddle
My wife and I became aware of the Communion with God series during my time of recovery from pastoral burnout in the early 90’s. It was at this time we read all the material and began journaling. Several years went by and we began to hear the Lord in almost all areas of our life and especially our marriage. Then, in 1998, a pastor friend asked if we would consider pastoring again and we said yes, the Lord had already told us which church and what location. Amazingly enough, it was the very church where we are pastoring now.

When we came here, there was a small group of 25 people, mostly of the senior vintage. We began teaching what we had learned in the Communion with God series and the response was really overwhelming. We have baptized almost every month since our beginnings. We are now running on an average Sunday 125 or more. We have elders and deacons helping us in all areas of ministry. We have had people healed of cancer, tumors, and all sorts of ailments. The Spirit moves, filling us with His love.

Home Group in Canada Explodes with Growth When Communion With God Is Taught – Helen Toews
We invited 12 people and recommended that they look up the course on the Net and pray about coming. Via ‘tell-a-friend’, 28 showed up. Three couldn’t make it because of out-of-town commitments so they will be watching the video before the next session to catch up. I will do this with anyone who has a legitimate problem and will miss the study group evening but strongly recommend they commit to the 12 weeks as a group.
My pastors are ‘covering’ this study and I feel honored to be released and pioneering this course as it is not a ‘my church’ happening. God is truly going before me because I am being trusted with a new thing.
The 30+ people come from very different walks and churches as I reported to you in my last e-mail.
Before teaching, I took the course in person at Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship with you and then again by myself via tapes and the study guide before I felt confident that I could field the questions that may come up. Deciding not to worry, I realized none of these people are my problem. They are the Lord’s. He will be faithful to all of us. It’s not about us ‘teaching’ anyway.
Our format is simple and we have a few ground rules for the class as a whole. Because we meet on a Monday night, the class itself starts at 7pm and ends at 9pm. We begin with a time of quieting ourselves as a group by soaking for about 5 minutes or so listening to a worship tape. I encourage everyone to leave the cares of the day at the doorstep...if they really need any of it after the class, they can pick them up there. We encourage those who can to stay for refreshments and fellowship and leave when they want.
We are taking two 1/2-hour video sessions per evening and then my husband takes the guys into the library and the ‘girls’ stay in the living room. It allows for more freedom in prayer and in our case, because the group is large, the softer voices are heard. We don’t want to miss getting to know everyone. I believe as we spend more time together it will be the safe place for deeper work to be done. Men ministering to men - women to women. The Holy Spirit has also instructed that I have a small hand-held tape recorder ready with blank tapes in each room so that during prayer and ministry time prophetic words can easily be recorded. This is for the safety of our Bible Study accountability as a whole and so that the word can be taken back to their local church and covering.
The ages are about 17 - 70+ — a wonderful mix. Seasoned intercessors, ordained ministers, youth group leaders, homemakers, students, young professionals and older... the Lord must know what He’s doing! He really does sit in the heavens and laugh, doesn’t He?
My husband and I together went before the Lord and asked for the grace to give our time to this group and their needs for the next 12 weeks. We are willing to mentor, pray with, just chat and ‘be there’ for them. We have decided we will not be too busy or preoccupied to pour ourselves into the lives that need us and we believe the Lord will protect us in all of it. He is our Wisdom. That was when we thought it might be 10 or so people - “very funny, Lord!” The vow stands and we shared that with them. We want to stress the accountability factors in this course and the fact that Lone Rangers still get shot. The churches seem to have trouble with this in our neck of the woods - they like to talk about relationship but it really generally means “come and be part of my program so I can count how many people we have.” Also, accountability and submission are two words that carry misconceptions in churches; we believe this course will help to model it correctly and that will be the voice that is heard.
I will be taking Counseled by God next and hopefully it will be a follow-up to this course that takes us into the new year.
Please pray with us that this course will be taught in our church. I don’t care who does it although I would certainly give myself to it (or even better, ask you to come and open it up to the other churches as well) and am willing to donate the video for that purpose. We are a large growing church and have had to go to quadruple services on Sunday. At the last leadership meeting we were discussing the fact that we have outgrown our building and are wanting direction. I wanted to scream “DON’T ASK ME WHAT I THINK, ASK ME WHAT I SEE THE LORD SAYING.” Maybe someday that is a language we will all understand. I pray so.
Thank you for all your help, your prompt replies, the financial grace, for writing this material, for CLU, for making a difference, and for hiring Cheryl.

Another cyberhug from Winnipeg...

Thank You for Voting and Praying!
A great victory for righteousness was achieved in the United States in the November 5th election. Thank you for your part in this. Now let’s pray daily for our national leaders, that godliness might prevail.

Heart Wounds Healed – Testimony Posted
Karen M. Leininger’s final paper for the course “REN105 The Father Heart of God” is entitled “The Home Coming” and is a wonderful testimony of how interaction with Jesus, the Father, and the Holy Spirit has brought great healing to the wounds of her heart. “Give up! You’re Surrounded!” Dream Interpretation – Steve Bydeley
Dream: I was alone in a foreign land. As I looked up, I saw soldiers approaching me from every side. They held their rifles ready, and attention was focused on getting me. Suddenly, out of nowhere, people started to walk in and surround me. There were many and they kept coming as they formed a tight circle around me several layers deep. They stood with their backs to me as they faced and stared down the approaching soldiers. Somehow, I knew their unspoken message to those soldiers was that they should reconsider their mission.

Background: When I awoke from that dream my only thought was, “Wow, that was interesting; I wonder what it was about.”

Interpretation: That evening, Dianne and I were speaking on dreams to a church in Sydney, Australia. When finished, as we were mingling and talking with the attendees, a lady approached asking to speak to me. She shared that while I was speaking she saw, in the spirit, a large demon reaching for my throat, trying to stop me. She then asked if she could pray for me.

As she prayed, the Lord brought back to my attention the details of this dream and I realized I was experiencing the interpretation. God, my Father, would surround me with those who would act to intercede on my behalf when there was a need. I was deeply impressed realizing that He would do that for me! His eyes “move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His” (II Chron. 16:9).

Influence in My Life: This dream continues to be an encouragement to me whatever I face. It makes me aware of people He has in place ready to surround me with prayer. It gives me courage and peace in the face of whatever assignment He gives me. Could I have gotten along without that dream? Very likely — but why would I want to? This is my Father’s personal touch into my life, like His hand on my shoulder wherever I go.

Steve and Dianne Bydeley are authors of the book Dream Dreams, as well as a companion workbook, teacher’s manual and seminar audiotapes. They offer a 12-week Internet Dream Interpretation Mentoring course wherein you are personally and confidentially coached through your dreams.

The Lord uses dreams to improve marriages, parenting skills, workplace relationships, friendships, give encouragement, bring hope and more. Steve and Dianne lead seminars and workshops, bringing people into healing and a more intimate relationship with God and others. Credits for the 12-week Internet Dream Interpretation Mentoring practicum are available through CLU. Contact the Bydeley’s at info@lapstoneministries.org and visit their website at www.lapstoneministries.org.

Questions To Help Others See Vision – Mark Virkler
The following series of questions can be used to help those you are counseling who seem unable to see vision. These questions will help discern the cause of their inability to see, and help them begin receiving.

  1. Start by establishing if they can “see” at all.
Ask, “Can you picture your living room couch?”
If they answer yes, go on to “B” below.
If they answer no, help them discover why they have cut off the visionary capacity. Generally people have done so for one of two reasons: 1) to avoid the sin of lust, or 2) to cut off an unpleasant reoccurring visual scene. If they have done either of these, they will need to repent for rejecting and ignoring their visual ability, and pray for God to heal and restore it. Prayer counseling ministry must follow to heal the issue(s) that led to this decision. Ask: “Was there ever a time in your life that you were able to see visions? If so, at what point did you cut it off? Why?” Pray: “Holy Spirit, please show us any event or any reason this person has cut off the visionary capacity in their life.” Tune to flowing thoughts, and respond to what you are receiving by applying the appropriate prayer ministry (e.g., repentance, inner healing, deliverance, renouncing of ungodly vows to no longer see).

  2. If an individual can see his or her living room couch, then go on to the following:
Ask: “Can you picture Bible scenes?” If so, encourage them to do so each time they meditate on the Word. This is a way of strengthening the eyes of your heart.
Ask: “Can you see Jesus in the biblical scenes?” If not, then pray and find out why they have cut off vision of Jesus. This is usually because of teaching by the Church that it is wrong to visualize Jesus because it is a graven image. Have them repent and state the opposite, which is that the Bible teaches that we are to fix our eyes upon Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith (Heb. 12:1,2).

Final Thought: The fuel for the Spirit is faith, hope and love. Tank up on these each morning by spending some time with the Creator!
