“God,
why aren't You more specific in our journals?”(Mark
Virkler's journaling) Situation: I was frustrated because I see in other people's journaling
what I saw in mine -- the constant encouragement of God to trust Him and to
believe and to have hope, but not (in my perception) all the specifics they need
for breakthrough in their lives. When I would provide the specifics they need by
way of counseling, a breakthrough would come.
“Lord, why don't You provide these specifics to me and to others directly
through our journaling? I do understand that faith, hope and love are central,
but the specifics which provide the release are also extremely valuable.”
“Mark, I have shown you in your spirit the answer. It is because I have
ordained apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers in the body of
Christ, to whom you are to relate for instruction and help and counsel. If you
could get it all from Me directly, then you would not need each other. Thus you
would fragment. Therefore I do not give you all you need through your
journaling. I give you faith, hope and love and some other extras, but I
purposely hold back some the information you need and I give it to others to
give to you. This way, each one must walk in submission to the body of Christ in
order to become all that I have called and destined them to be.
“Journaling is a wonderful key, but it is not all that a person needs.
He also needs My revelation through the other ways I speak. This includes
instruction coming through others in the body of Christ.”
I submitted this journaling to the following two spiritual advisors for their

Maurice Fuller's comments: “I agree with God. Journaling, to me, is a
way to learn to hear from God until we can hear Him clearly in our spirit. So
whether or not we continue to journal, it seems to be in the same category as
hearing from God in our spirit. And that is only one way God speaks to us. Other
ways are, as your journaling says, through others (which should confirm what God
has already been speaking to us), through divinely-ordained circumstances,
through prophecy (word of knowledge, word of wisdom etc.), and through visions,
dreams and so on. I do not put a lot of weight on one particular method. God
often speaks to me when I am not specifically waiting for it. I submit a
question to Him and He answers me in His time in the way He chooses. It is not a
long wait but I have never been successful at pressing Him for a total answer
right now. I have never found that I hurry the process up significantly by
journaling. I always hear something through journaling but seldom does a
complete solution come that way. Sometimes I don't hear anything in so many
words but a conviction or a particular sense of direction begins to grow and
grow until it crowds out all doubt and indecision.”

with my spirit. It's also the point of I Corinthians 12 and Hebrews 10:25.”

A CLU student writes: “I want to thank you once again for the book Am
I Being Deceived?I recently purchased 10 copies (one for each of my
brothers & sisters). As children we were members of a Pilgrim Holiness
church (similar to hard line Nazarene). I was impressed of the Lord to send a
copy to each of my siblings. One sister wrote me back this morning and said the
following:
“'Thanks again for the book. I read it all last night. As I started to read,
the Lord showed me that I was reading it with a critical spirit. So I laid the
book down and asked Him to forgive me. I then went back and started reading the
book again. This time, He showed me many areas in my life where I had tendencies

I
Wanted a Degree But I Received More – Christian Spirituality
“I enrolled in CLU with the desire to quickly run through the courses and have
my master's degree. But as I began to read the courses, all of a sudden my
approach to the whole curriculum changed. I began to take my time to study and
prayerfully allow God to change my life through them. I never knew how shallow I
was spiritually and how insensitive I was to the Holy Spirit until I began

Dream
Interpretation – Golden Contacts Dream: I was in an office with someone. We had a computer chip with gold
contacts. He showed me how to make a photocopy of it so we could label and
identify the contacts.
Later I was in another office and I had a computer chip to photocopy for others.
I went to the copier and found that someone had elaborate alignment guides taped
to the copier surface like they were using it for something. There was no note
forbidding me, so I thought I would remove some of the stuff so I could make a
copy of the chip. As I started a man and a woman returned and the man was very
angry that I had tried to remove their stuff. I tried to explain but he would
not listen.
Background: The night before this dream and for a couple of weeks earlier
I had been leading a study on worship. The approach I was presenting was
different from that commonly referred to as worship, but, because the Father
seeks worship, I thought it important to define, along biblical lines, what I
thought worship really was. There was no small amount of resistance to this new
approach, especially from one person.
Interpretation: The gold contacts which stood out so vividly on the
computer chips represent the Father's valuation of the times of worship I had
been experiencing. I believe the Holy Spirit was the one who taught me worship
and was teaching me to copy, for others, what I had learned. The other
photocopier with the elaborate guides and patterns represented the other
person's firm and unbending opinion of worship and the subsequent encounter
represented the resistance I had experienced. The lady represented the
motivating factor in his opinion.
Effect on my life: The dream encouraged me that what I was doing was a
good thing and that resistance would come. It caused me to value even more the
times I spent in worship because the Father saw them as golden moments between
us. Even though there would be resistance there was value in teaching others
what I was taught.

Wedding
of Charity Virkler! Congratulations toCharity and Leo!
Mark and Patti's daughter, Charity, was married June 15th in a
beautiful outdoor wedding to Leonard Kayembe, a Spirit-filled Christian, a
budding businessman, and college student from Zambia who attends Love Joy Gospel
Church. May their union in Christ be a wonderful blessing to the Church!
