The best way I know to keep growing and learning is to constantly hear and
obey God's voice. Memorize and experience the following four
keys:
Key # 1 – Recognize God's voice as spontaneous thoughts which light upon
your mind.
Key # 2 – Quiet yourself so you can hear God's voice.
Key # 3 – Look for vision as you pray.
Key # 4 – Write down the flow of thoughts and pictures that come to you.
“Hearing God's voice is as simple as quieting yourself down, fixing your
eyes on Jesus, tuning to spontaneity, and writing!” You can ensure that what
you have written came from God by sharing it with your three spiritual
advisors to confirm that their hearts bear witness that it is from God.

“Father, You have been speaking to me about obedience. It is better than
sacrifice. I want to obey You out of a close relationship with You and desire
not to grieve You. I realize in part, much of my obedience has been based on
fear of failure and fear of rejection, to gain approval—so people would not
get mad at me or so they would like me, etc. I want it to be out of a close
intimacy with You that I would not jeopardize our love relationship and grieve
or hurt You or Your heart that I see and feel. What would You like to say to
me about obedience?”
Reply: “Yes, it is true, your obedience has been largely based in wrong
motive and in wrong understanding. From a young boy you have had a heart to
please, an extremely sensitive heart that has always sought to be accepted and
approved of—a heart that has deeply yearned for approval and love and to be
liked. You began at a young age to learn to operate out of fear, worry and
anxiety that if you don't try hard enough you will not be accepted and valued.
“This runs deep in you, My son. This is what I am in the process of
unraveling. This is how you respond to Me and to others. As you are painfully
aware, this has never worked. It has always backfired on you. It seems to work
for a time and season, yet it ultimately fails and ends up in ruin. You have
never learned how to respond and obey out of love, out of a heart that has
been secured and made safe. It has always been out of striving and fear.
“This is SO far from My desired intention!! It is so opposite and contrary
to My heart and My way. The fear of man brings a snare! True obedience comes
out of true love. Anything less is counterfeit and is sacrifice—a desire and
attempt to bring a sacrifice or offering that is not pleasing in My sight. It
is not a love response. It is not a heart response. It does not come out of a
passionate and intimate knowledge of My love and heart of acceptance and
approval.
“The whole framework of your mind and thought life in this area is corrupted
and in need of desperate healing and repair. Anything less than obedience out
of love for Me is falling short. It is out of knowing Me, being intimately
acquainted with Me, My heart for you and the assurance of faith that obedience
must come. No longer out of rejection, no longer out of the torment of
abandonment that you respond to Me.
“I have given you a heart that desired to please Me, yet mixed in all of
that is training and misunderstanding of what Father wants. You have tried so
hard to please your father and mother, you ran so fast to gain approval and at
times you got it because you tried so hard; yet, as you have experienced, it
was short-lived. You have never been able to win the approval of your father
even to this day. It has always eluded you.
“My son, you never once have to try to win My approval. It is My gift to
you. I freely give it to you. It has been bought for you with a dear price,
with the price of My Son. See and accept My approval and you will find an
immediate response of obedience and a 'yes' in your heart to Me. It is out of
APPROVAL that OBEDIENCE comes. It is not out of OBEDIENCE that APPROVAL comes.
That is totally backwards.
“I need you to come and sit with Me in the pear tree time after time, to
meet with Me there often so that you can hear the whispers and notions of My
approval and acceptance for you. Yes, for you, the one who has felt so
rejected and unaccepted. There you will begin to see and hear My heart for
you. There, you will begin to lay down the lies and trade your sorrows for My
joy. It is there you will begin to experience the Father's acceptance and
approval in depths that you could only imagine. Come, Mike, My son and hear
and receive from My heart.”

“TREND: Significant increase in out-of-church Christianity
“A nationwide survey conducted by the USA-based Barna Research Group
indicates that the number of unchurched adults in America continues to grow by
nearly a million people annually. Interestingly, many of these unchurched
people are spiritually active. One out of every five reads the Bible in a
typical week; six out of ten pray to God each week; and nearly one million
unchurched adults tithe their income—that is, donate at least 10% of their
annual household revenue to non-profit entities.
“The religious media play a part in their spiritual life, too, with four out
of ten absorbing Christian content through television, radio, magazines or
faith-based websites during a typical month. In addition, one-quarter of them
have conversations with one or more friends who hold them accountable for
carrying out their faith principles.
“Having studied church attendance patterns for more than twenty years,
researcher George Barna suggests that the consistent resistance to church life
in recent years is indicative of a historic shift in the nation's spiritual
vision. 'A large and growing number of Americans who avoid congregational
contact are not rejecting Christianity as much as they are shifting how they
interact with God and people in a strategic effort to have a more fulfilling
spiritual life. This suggests that we are on the precipice of a new era of
spiritual experience and expression.'
“Barna expects the percentage of adults who are unchurched to grow during
the coming decade. 'However, the emergence of a national body of spiritual
leaders who are assisting unchurched people in their quest for spiritual depth
through means and relationships that are outside the usual institutional
vehicles is significant. We anticipate substantial growth in the number of
people who are not connected to a congregational church but who are committed
to God and to their faith.'”

Birth
Announcement
Mark and Patti Virkler are thrilled to announce the birth of their first
grandchild! Jasmine Claire Virkler was born to Joshua
and Charlene Virkler on May 10, 2005, weighing 10 lbs. 11 oz. (!) and 21
½ inches long. As you can see, she is the most beautiful baby in the world!
She is bringing great joy into the lives of all her family, who thank the Lord
daily for this wonderful miracle.
