God’s
voice protects soldier from death while in Iraq
“Joshua, our son, who is currently serving in Afghanistan, was in
Fallujah, Iraq in 2003. He had gone on a convoy to Baghdad and
called me during his break before returning to Fallujah. Joshua was
saying his good-byes and getting ready to hang up when God spoke to
me saying, “Pray! Pray for him!” I yelled into the phone, “No,
Joshua! I have to pray for you now! Don’t hang up!” Joshua said,
“Okay, Mom, but hurry I have to go.” I silently asked God to
give me the words to pray. I remember praying for his safety and for
God to place his protecting and warrior angels around Joshua and the
other men/women with him. We said our goodbyes and hung up.
“We were very fortunate because we could talk on instant
messager (IM) daily. Fallujah was less than an hour’s drive from
Baghdad. So approximately an hour later, I went into the computer
and there on the AP (Associate Press) were pictures of an U.S.
convoy that had been hit with an IED and attacked. The pictures
showed soldiers lying on the ground with injuries while other
soldiers were standing guard. As a mother, my heart sank.
Immediately, I sent an IM to Joshua to make sure he was okay. Even
though there was no answer from him for hours, God gave me a deep
inner peace that everything was okay.
“Later, that evening Joshua sent word to me saying that
everything was okay. However, I noticed something different in his
conversation. Finally, a few days later during our conversation he
asked if dad was there and wanted to talk to him. Joshua informed
him that an IED went off 10 feet in front of him on the day that I
insisted praying with him on the phone. Because he had spent just a
couple more moments with me in prayer, he was 10 feet away from the
explosion instead of right in the middle of it! The only injuries he
had was a little hearing loss and ringing and affected sight in his
eye. Other than that, he was okay. He talked of the adrenaline rush
and how it was affecting him. (This is normally termed
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.)
“I began praising God, because for me on that day, I learned
again the power of prayer! Because of God and my obedience to God’s
direction, Joshua’s life was saved that day! Nothing can ever
express the gratitude and awe I have for God, His Love and
Protection in that experience. When we obey God’s direction and
listen to His voice, amazing miracles happen, and satan is defeated.
Hallelujah!!! Amen!

everyday while they work 12-18 hour days.

Stevens Spreads the Good News of Intimacy with Jesus
“I am using the
DVD series on ‘How to Hear God’s Voice’ with our Ladies’
Bible study on Wednesday nights. I just had to let you know how
amazing this has been for us all. We are on week 4 and the women are
actually journaling and reporting back to the group. Their faces are
aglow with excitement and an experience of being loved and
understood by the Lord.
“I am so delighted. My personal passion is to see individuals
experience a more intimate relationship with the Lord and with each
other and this has made such a difference. I began to journal about
9 years ago but generally I often just felt like I was making it up,
yet my theology told me that the Lord would want this kind of

entry today, October 11, 2007.
“Hello Lord. I love You and give You this day. What would
You like to say to me today?”
“I am glad you chose to join ME. I love you and always
hold you dear. Rest in ME. I have many plans for you and will
show you great and wondrous things as you walk with ME and
talk with ME. My power is already within you. Draw upon it.
“I want to tell you something. Do you see this sea?
(I had pictured myself with Jesus at the Sea of Galilee since
I have been there.) Right now it is quiet and serene. But a
storm can come at any moment and disturb that peace. Fix your
eyes on ME, Judy. Be still and know that I am God. My peace is
much bigger than that storm. Search and claim it. Come wade
with ME in the sea. Feel the cool refreshing waters stirring
around your feet. I am the refreshing waters within you. If
you are thirsty, drink of ME. Now bend down. What do you see?”
“I see Your reflection, LORD.”
“Yes, you see MY reflection because you are looking for
it. Anyone who searches for ME will find ME. Anyone who is
thirsty for ME will drink of ME. Anyone who searches for peace
out of the storm will find it in ME”
“LORD, there are so many things I want to do for you and
feel at my age it just may not happen.” (56 years old)
“I know all about your wants and desires, Judy. What is
age? What is time?”
“What do you mean, LORD?”
“Look back at the sea, Judy. Does the age of the sea
stop it from flowing? Does time make it stand still? No. Only I
can do that. Your steps are ordered by ME. Desire ME and wait
upon ME. I know the desires of your heart. I love you.”
“As
though your life depends on it…”
The following journaling
is from Pastor Terry, who is going through our “Personal
Spiritual Trainer” program.
“You are on your journey, but
you still have unsettled issues. Yes, you have been forgiven,
but you still have not settled the internal struggles that
have been part of your life since childhood. And rather than
come to Me, you try to figure them out. Can we talk about
them? I can heal them, you know. I can bring you peace in this
area or these areas of your life. I know the solution, even
when you don’t.
“Why do you want to cover them, anyway? Have I not
proven My love and mercy for you? For you are special to Me,
and I have a great work for you, but it will require you going
into the dark places of your soul, and embracing the night
seasons, and allowing Me to work in them. Repairing and
healing. Sorting out what is not of Me and what is, that I may
purge you of the faulty, and counterfeit, and replace it with
the genuine and real.
“It will take time, and your patience is required…I
won’t force it, but it won’t happen when you try to figure
it out, and try to reason it into completion. Can you trust Me
to do what you have prayed? I tell you I am not through yet…Let
Me settle the things within you that have been a torment for
years…those gnawing voices, those deep questions that keep
you unsettled, unsure and at unrest.
“I know that inner battle for I went through them. I
felt every pain, and every struggle that you are going
through. And without condemnation, I can take you through
where I have been. Lean on Me. Trust Me…Allow Me to do what
only I can do…don’t worry about the results, or what you
will be like, or whether others will notice the change…I
will do the work, and the transformation, and it will be what
I desire…not others…I love you, and need you to value our
time together as though your life depends on it, because truly
it does…
“I implore you, let Me do it. I can change you…and
give you what you have cried for and wept for, and desired…and
even beyond that…let Me be Me…and I will make you what I
want you to be, and you will see Me in you…full of mercy and
grace, and you won’t be fooled or deceived, and the
questions will be rooted in Me, and not theology, or ideology
or natural understanding, but in Me, in truth.
“And you will possess a confidence that is unheard of
in those you know. And from that will spring wells of
anointing, pools of blessing, and hands that touch and impact
deeply the lives of others…Trust Me, I can do it. I really
can…don’t let your fears control you. My love is
sufficient for you to know and understand that I can take you
to that place you have desired, for that desire in you is My
desire, and you won’t be like others, or follow those same
patterns, but you will be unique, different, and contented in
Me.
“Follow Me and only Me. Take what I have given you
and process it through Me and see if I don’t take it to a
level you have only begun to experience…and you will surpass
the wisdom of men and the knowledge of books and the abilities
of natural and inborn strengths, but you will possess Me, the
Holy, anointed One. Full of mercy and grace…Full of power
and ability, and creative words, and the ability to do ALL I
have said in the past.
“Trust Me…your desires will begin to change, old
patterns will fall off, and I will restore what our enemy has
stolen from you, even to the very core of your being, yes even
your childhood, and ability to be a child and have fun and
enjoy life, and peace and contentment. Follow Me, follow Me…I’m
going somewhere, and I want you to be with Me…Follow Me.”

Is Healing to the Bones
In a small Southern town there was a nativity scene that showed
great skill and talent had gone into creating it. One small feature
bothered me. The three wise men were wearing firemen’s helmets.
Totally unable to come up with a reason or explanation, I left.
At a Quik Stop on the edge of town, I asked the lady behind the
counter about the helmets. She offered a simple explanation: “Haven't
you ever read in the Good Book where it says ‘The three wise men
came from afar’?”
