Mark Virkler
President of Christian Leadership University
Author of Communion With God

After 20 years of teaching the Communion With God seminar in churches worldwide, I have just had another first-time experience:  I taught in a renewal Quaker church in Asheboro, North Carolina.  It was at Quaker Heights Friends Church's annual retreat where 60 adults and 61 children registered.  The children had separate training activities, and I worked with the adults only.  Two-thirds of the church had already taken the Communion With God course taught by their pastor, Rev. David Roudabush. I spent a couple of hours reviewing the four keys to hearing God's voice, and then launched into the Counseled By God seminar, which is the next three-month course their church has scheduled.

The church was in a process of moving from the traditional evangelical stance to a renewal stance.  People were at various places: some baptized in the Holy Spirit, some seeking it (who did receive it that weekend), and some not sure it should be sought at all.  However, all hearts were open and hungry and seeking after God.  The people were extremely warm and friendly.  The church leadership has made several visits to Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship over the last few years.  TACF is touching churches in ALL religious streams.  Isn't God amazing! Let's keep on praying and believing for God's renewal outpouring to continue.

Communion With God has now been translated into Chichewa. This language is widely spoken in south-central Africa, including Malawi, Zambia and Mozambique.  Please spread the word to anyone you might know who would have contacts in these countries. It can be freely downloaded from http://cwgministries.org/Free-Christian-Books-and-Articles.htm

Pastor Roger Harper from Aldridge, England received the following as he journaled about the war in Afganistan.  "Pray for Afghanistan.  Pray for the people there.  Ask Me to bless them."  www.prayforafghanistan.org

Lynda Russett, a Christian Leadership University student, has invited two friends to study CWG in her home with her.  Is God leading you to do the same thing?

"I have finally started the course Communion With God.  I have two friends who will be doing the course with me, although neither of them will be doing it for credit.  As both of these women are also mothers of small children, coordinating our schedules has been a challenge.  We met for the first time yesterday and I know God is going to stretch and grow us all.  Already I am in awe of what God has said to me as I have been attempting to tune into that spontaneity.  I wonder now how it is that we even attempt to be Christians without learning how to hear His voice.  I am so thankful that you took the time to experiment with God and have been faithful to the task of passing on what God has taught you.  I am looking forward to doing the same."

Bernadette Moore, another CLU student, writes about a vision God gave her while taking the Communion With God course.

"I love the course.  I'm a right-brainer who's been journaling since 1988 and walking in visions and dreams since about 1977.  The most wonderful thing about the course, so far, is that it gives names and explanations to the experiences the Lord has brought me into over the years.  I just had to believe the Lord that I wasn't crazy.  And, of course He proved that I wasn't as the words and the dreams and visions came to pass just as He said. Thank you for defining and explaining these things.   Also, I love your humor on the tapes.  It makes the material all the more enjoyable.

"One example of a visionary experience I have had:

At one time in my life I went through recurring periods of sickness. During one episode, the night before I was admitted to the hospital, I saw the Lord in this beautiful green pasture with rolling hills and scattered patches of flowers.  I was with Him, but I was a 5-year-old girl.  I was walking beside Him, holding His great big hand.  I was joyful and carefree, able to notice and focus on the different aspects of the lush scenery.  I was skipping along holding His hand with my feet barely touching the ground at times.  As the vision concluded, I was impressed by the strong, powerful Father Who had my hand.  I didn't have to be concerned about where we were going because He was big and tall enough to see far in the distance.  He was leading the way. I didn't have to plot my course, or figure out how to get there, or how to overcome the obstacles I might encounter.  As a single woman, I had been consumed with all these things.  But, with the vision, my sense of God's Fatherhood in my life was vividly restored and a deeper level of trust (little girl trust) settled in my heart.  I had this big strong hand holding on to me.  It didn't matter where we went or what we encountered.  I knew He was in charge and He would direct and handle whatever occurred. Occasionally, perhaps when I get too wound up with cares, issues and responsibilities, the Lord takes me back to my little girl vision and restores my perspective of "Abba Father," my great big Daddy God Who is taking care of all things for me.  Then I go back to discovering the pretty flowers of life that are growing along the path I'm on.
