The Christmas Season and the Spirit of Love

Mark Virkler's picture

Have you felt it, this year, and in years past? Love, peace and joy are in the air. People become friendlier. It is God’s Spirit of love, poured out across the earth. For God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten son (1 Jn. 4:9). We celebrate and feel His love, joy and peace every Christmas season. And yes, Dec. 25th may or may not be the exact day Jesus was born, but to me it makes no difference. We have chosen this day to commemorate His birth.

Read Matthew: 1-23   “Come with Me; let’s go to the fireplace.  Let Me put some more wood in the stove, and keep the fire burning.  I will keep you warm tonight. You can rest with Me.  Let Me grab the log and place it on the fire. You hear the crackling sound of fire.  You will be kept safe, warm.”

Unleashing Healing Power Through Spirit Born Emotions – NEW Book by Mark and Charity

Do you have a theology concerning the role of kingdom emotions to release a miracle? I sure didn’t. I just scorned emotions as being soulish. However, 37 years ago when I began hearing God’s voice through two-way journaling, God reminded me that Jesus, moved by compassion, healed (Matt. 14:14). So I accepted, intellectually, that there was a place for emotions.

Numerous dreams surrounded the birth of Jesus, as the Wonderful Counselor provided guidance and direction through dreams to many of those involved. He is still providing  amazing counsel to you and me, free, every night. All we need to do is learn how to interpret the symbolism in dreams and how to have our hearts awaken us when our nightly dreams end. This CD series will teach you how to accomplish both these skills. Bless your friends by making this their Christmas present.

Read Matthew 1:17 – 23 NEW LIVING “Come to Me in the Father’s house at Christmas Mountain.  Come into the living room.  Sit comfortably in the chair and let Me bring you some dessert. It is a chocolate and white giant swiss Yule log.  Here, have a piece. Make yourself comfortable. The story of Christmas is ongoing and living. It is a spiral, like a Yule log.”

Matthew 1:1-17 The Message “Look at Matthew 1. This is part of the Nativity Story often missed.  The reason, you see, for the genealogy is a summary of history. In each name are stories. This genealogy is a shortcut; a prelude. With television shows, you say ‘previously, on’. This is a similar shortcut. It is like when you read the opening crawl before the big Star Wars movies. It is a summary of what has gone on before.”

Read: Matthew 1:18- 25 (the Message) “Come, sit with Me, rest with Me in the living room.  I am more interested in heart to heart than head to head.” “See Me pouring you a nice, warm cup of hot chocolate, made with real milk; real chocolate and of course, with marshmallows on top because I am comfort.” “Here, take this and re-read Matthew 1:18-25, act it out, speak it out, for it’s a real story.”

Speaking Your Journaling Back to the Lord as Your Personal, Present-Tense Reality

In working as a Personal Spiritual Trainer Coach with individuals, I get to read and affirm their journaling. Following is a dialogue I recently had with Patricia, a lady I am coaching as she begins two-way journaling. Patricia, This is great journaling. Here is what I suggest. Turn the statements into positive, present-tense, confessions, just as David did in the Psalms. For example:
